Obituary for David Anthony Wetterman

David Anthony Wetterman was born March 3rd 1994. While David was in our home and
hearts since birth, on December 22, 2000 we celebrated him becoming a Wetterman when
he answered the judge “I do” at his final adoption hearing. In his 28 years of life, David
touched so many people. He had such dreams and plans for the future that were not to be.

David was killed in a tragic car accident May 22nd, 2022 in Newberry Springs. Dave would
tell you “If it has tits or tires it's gonna let you down.” He did love that Mustang. David
lived life at “full throttle” and ended life much too soon. He lived a life of faith, with God in
Heaven as his Father. Because of this, his family and friends will find comfort knowing he is
together again with his parents Don and Nola Wetterman.

David leaves behind his twin brother Joseph and his siblings, Donnie (Mary), Tommy
(Jeanne), Cathy, Robby (Denise) Wetterman, Julie (Tony) Heggenberger, Christina (Brian)
Holt, and his “Nanny Flo” Wetterman. David had so much love to give, he had another
family with his Daddy Manuel and Mama Ann Baca. He was a wonderful brother to all of
those siblings Terry (Rebecca) Gaskill, Adrian (Rachel) Baca, Melinda (Michael) Arballo,
Jennifer (Jonathan) Webb, Tiffany (Keith) Powers, Destiny (Anthony), Gabriel, Morgan,
Sean, Stephanie, James, and Sara Baca. He was so loved and will be missed by numerous
aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. David had the ability to make each one of them
feel so very special.

Since birth, he struggled with his handicap due to cerebral palsy, always with a positive
outlook. His childhood years, Dave made it his job to take care of his twin brother Joey. As a
teenager it was his job to keep Joey out of trouble. As an adult he decided his time was better
spent helping others. Growing up in a firefighter family, he always knew he wanted to be a
firefighter and drive those big red trucks. He worked as a mechanic to pay the bills, but
firefighting was his love. He enjoyed being involved in all the different fire departments
Newberry Springs, Yermo, Daggett, Calico, Hinkley in California and Torrance County in
New Mexico. David learned so much from emergency calls, firefighting classes and
training, he was like a sponge absorbing knowledge. Most of all he lived and loved to
respond to others in need. Certainly, to know him was to love him. Living life one day at a
time, David believed “life is like a helicopter, he doesn't know how to fly one of those
either.” David loved God and Country, and the right to have his guns. He collected family
heirlooms, and could debate any subject with the best of them.

David was like fireworks, he was bright and beautiful but didn’t last long, going to heaven
way too young. He will be missed by so many. A gathering in his honor will be held June 18,
2022, 10 o'clock in the morning at Newberry Springs Assembly of God Church, 32582
Mountain View Road, Newberry Springs, California. Immediately following the memorial
service, there will be a feast in remembrance of David.

David Anthony had a dream of refurbishing Hinkley's 1941 Fire Engine #1 It was awarded to
his Mom by San Bernardino County Fire . He wanted it to run and look nice for parades and
events. Representing the dedication of Volunteer firemen past and present. His family
would like to follow through with that plan for David. With your permission we would like
to use donations received beyond memorial costs for the rehab of Engine #1 , fondly
referred to as Grandma.

The Highlands Funeral Home was entrusted to handle the arrangements. A Celebration of David's life is pending.
