Armando “Mondo” Rodriguez. Father. Brother. Uncle. Friend.
Mondo, born October 12th,1955 here in Barstow, was the first child born to Armando and Mary Rodriguez. He passed away on May 10, 2023, after battling an illness, with his boys by his side.
His time spent with us was shared with many including his brother, family, friends, and co-workers with a long career working for Yellow Freight.
He loved playing the guitar, he was also the lead singer of his band Voyager for many years. He enjoyed getting out on Saturdays and stopping at an occasional yard sales. He also enjoyed watching Football (especially when a “friendly” wager was involved!), car shows and swap meets or playing poker with family or friends all brought joy to his time, but his most meaningful time, although it was limited, was spent with his boys, whom he cherished and loved. He was a proud grandpa.
He leaves behind his sons Armando and Lucas,Teddy. Grandchildren Rokkvi, Maney, Atlas, Elisabet, Alexandra, Amos, Thea, and Noel and numerous family members and friends.
His fun-loving, spirited will be fondly remembered and greatly missed by all.
The Highlands Funeral Home was honored to be entrusted by the Rodriguez family to handle the arrangements.
