Obituary for Julia Cecilia Romero
Our Dear Mother Julia Cecilia Romero, age 98, passed away at home on January 1, 2021, she went home to be with our Dear Lord. She was a long time resident of Barstow, California. Our Mother was born on March 29, 1922 in Santa Fe, New Mexico to Luis and Tomasita Moya. She was preceded in death by her parents, Luis and Tomasita Moya, Father and Mother In-Law Pablo and Beatriz Romero Prada, Husband, our Father, Lauriano Jose Romero and sons Larry David Romero and Peter Paul Romero, Great Grand-Daughter Josie Foreman, Brothers, Remijio and Leopoldo, Brother, Luis & Sister-in-Law Cecilia Moya, Brother, Apolonio & Sister-in-Law Mabel Moya, Brother, Fred & Sister-in-Law Stella Moya, Sister, Cesaria & Brother-in-Law Jose Armijo, Sister, Tommie & Brother-in-Law Manuel Lujan, Sister, Stella & Brother-in-Law Tomas Arrey. Brother-in-law and Sister-in-Law Paul & Jennie Romero, Sister-in-Law and Brother-in-Law Lena and Willie Jimenez and Sister-in-Law Guadalupe Romero.
Our Mom is survived by her Children, Grandchildren, Great-Grandchildren and one Great Great Grandson: Daughter, Bea, Son-in-Law Bill Ramirez from Barstow, CA, Granddaughter Julieanna Ramirez & Fiance Matthew Johnson, Grandson William, wife, Alejandra and Great Grandson Nicolas Ramirez. Daughter, Teresa, Son-in-Law Ed Wier from Oklahoma City, OK, Grandson, Eddie Jr, wife, Kristie Wier, Great Granddaughters, Katie, Marion, Kimberly & Hailey Wier and Great Granddaugher Autum Gonzales, Great Great Grandson Ransom Gonzales, Granddaughter Jennifer Wier and Great Granddaughter Ashleigh Foreman. Daughter, Rachael, Son-In-Law David Porlas from Albuquerque, NM, Grandson Davy, wife Joyce, Great Grandchildren, Scarlet, Jude & Jackson Porlas, Granddaughter Denise, husband Jim Ardis, Great Grandsons, Jesse & Tristan Ardis. Grandson Mark Romero (Son of Peter Romero), wife, Cathleen, Great Grandsons Christopher and Nicholas Romero. Son, Arthur, Daughter-In-Law Mary Romero from Barstow, CA., Grandson Papillion, wife, Monica, Great Grandchildren Arianna, Tyler & Gray Romero, Grandson Michael and Great Grandson Harlem Nelson, Granddaughter Sarah, husband Robert Gamez. Son, Geronimo, Daughter-In-Law Vicki Romero from Scottsdale, Az., Granddaughter Jamie, husband Peter Kogler, Great Granddaughters Hannah, Hallie & Hilary Kogler, Grandson Adam Romero & Partner David Divita. Extended family: Janice Grochowski, Carlos and Ana Gonzales, Rosa Toledo, Candelaria Toledo, Leticia Aguilera and Alejandra Toledo. Don & Dora Ramirez, Dona, Travis, Deanna & Trevor Hammonds.
Our Precious Mother loved her religion and was very faithful to our Father God, Jesus Christ, the Blessed Mother and all of her favorite Saints. She loved her family and praying for everyone, if you would call and ask her to pray for a cause, she was right on it! She loved to talk on the phone with her children, grandchildren, sisters, brothers, nieces, nephews and friends, although this list did dwindle, as she outlived her brothers, sisters and friends. She also loved to sing her own rendition of “Happy Birthday” with many many verses, it was beautiful! She babysat her two grandchildren, Julieanna and William Ramirez and loved playing games, singing and dancing with them. She loved when her children visited, her neighbors and the Priest from the Catholic Church. She also loved going out to eat frequently, especially Chinese Food at the Canton Café. Our Momma will be Greatly Greatly Missed, God Bless Her.
Funeral arrangements are being handled by The Highlands Funeral Home, 505 E. Williams Street, Barstow, Ca. The Rosary will be held on Tuesday, 1/19/2021 at 6 p.m. at The Highlands Funeral Home. Mass at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, 505 E. Mountain View Street, Barstow, CA. on Wednesday, 1/20/2021 at 10:30 a.m. with Burial thereafter at Mt. View Memorial Park, 37067 Irwin Road, Barstow, CA. Following burial, a reception will be held to honor our Dear Mother Julia Romero at Los Domingos Restaurant, 1520 E. Main Street, Barstow, Ca.
