Magdalena Rodriguez, 87, died peacefully amongst her family on June 29, 2023. She was born in San Bernardino, California on March 13, 1936 making her the daughter to Santos Porras and Clemente Cobos.

She resided most of her life in Barstow, California while being a devoted Catholic and member of the St. Joseph’s Catholic Church. While practicing her Religion, she was also a member of the group Guadalupanas.

She was the sister to her siblings Pepe Cobos, Ross Cobos, Tony Martinez, Amelia Kuta, Ralph Porras, Rachael Porras, and Gilbert Martinez. Also, she was the mother to her children(followed by their spouses) Tony and Priscilla Jaramillo, Joseph and Ana Jaramillo, Trinidad Esquivel, and Donna and Refugio Rodarte.

Magdalena was also a big supporter to her 12 Grandchildren, 18 Great Grandchildren, and 1 Great Great Grandchild with their sports and activities they participated in

. Along with being an avid Dodger fan, Magdalena spent most of her days enjoying her Mexican and religious music, crocheting, or praying the rosary to her beloved Saints surrounding her home.

Due to being an excellent cook, her menudo, tortillas, and enchiladas were enjoyed by family and the church, along with the many other dishes she specialized in. Magdalena was the type of person to befriend anyone and was able to converse with everyone. She was surely the light in a dark room. She will be greatly missed by her friends, family, and all who knew her.

Funeral arrangementsare with The Highlands Funeral Home. The Rosary Service will be at 10 am and the Funeral Mass will be at 11 am on Wednesday, July 12, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 505 E. Mountain View. The burial will follow at Mountain View Memorial Park 37067 Irwin Rd. Barstow, CA.
