Marylou Montiel
Sunrise July 18, 1940 ~ Sunset April 15, 2022
On the early morning of Friday, April 15th 2022, just before sunrise, God called our beloved queen, Marylou home.
Marylou grew up on a small farm in New Mexico until she moved to Barstow with her family where she stayed the remainder of her life.
She birthed 10 children: Joe Raymond, Iris, Irene, Angela, Tony, Daniel, Grace, Steven, Martin, and Viola.
She was known by her family, friends, and her community to welcome those in need and would help whenever she could. Her desire was to give love as her heavenly Father gave. Her display of love and giving resonated in her children and was also displayed through them.
During her last days when she could no longer attend her home church Connection Community Church, she looked forward to the visits by her Pastors who would hold praise and worship with her. She knew the importance of staying connected with Christ. She requested to have the Bible read to her daily when she could no longer read, and her family would sing praises and worship with her.
In her final weeks she was visited by many family and friends who traveled near and far, which was a reflection of the impact her love had.
It was an honor to have loved and been loved by Marylou, the queen of our
Family and she will forever be missed.
She was preceded in death by her parents Alberto and Josefita Silva, her
husband Joe Celestino Montiel, her children, Baby Tony Montiel, Daniel
Montiel, Joe Raymond Montiel, siblings Isabel Valenzuela and David Silva.
She leaves behind her life partner Marcos Perez, children Irene Bruhn of
Hesperia, Iris (Joseph) Contreras of Hesperia, Angela (Jose) Olvera of Apple
Valley, Grace Renteria of Hesperia, Steven (Season) Montiel of Barstow,
Martin (Sheila) Montiel of Barstow, Viola Hires of Victorville, her thirty-seven
grandchildren, sixty-six great grandchildren, four twice great grandchildren,
siblings Florenio, Trini, Nancy, Bruno, Toni, Mike, and a host of nieces and
nephews.
