William (Bill) Davis, a longtime resident of Newberry Springs, died on Oct 26, 2021.
He was born on Sept 13, 1937 in small town in Ohio to Burrel and Evelyn Davis. He came to California at the age of 5 where his younger three brothers were born. Being the eldest, he often used his brothers as test subjects for his homemade rollercoaster experiments.
Bill attended Bell High School and was part of graduating class of 1955. He was part of the track team and excelled in photography and wood shop courses.
After graduating, he attended Compton College which led him to work for several aerospace companies building circuit boards for planes. He was self employed where he had an electronic business. He would later train horses. He loved bluegrass music and was known to play a little banjo.
Bill is survived by his two daughters; Kathleen Davis-Martinez and Laureen Davis; his son-in-law Werner Martinez; his grandchildren, Sean Villareal, Mauriana Clark, Ryan Martinez and Tyler Martinez; his great-grandchildren, Easton Clark, Autumn Clark, and Nova Martinez. He was preceded in death by his wife of 46 years Nancy, as well as his brothers David, Danny, and Michael.
A graveside service will be conducted at the Mountain View Memorial Park at 36067 Irwin Rd., Barstow, CA. at 1:pm, Friday November 12, 2021. the service arrangements are being handled by The Highlands Funeral Home 505 E. Williams, Barstow CA.
